Offline (downloadable/CD) interactive courses may be downloaded from a web site or obtained on CD, and then installed on the user's computer. They provide all the advantages of interactivity and eLearning, but do not need an internet connection to run the course. This is ideal for large courses, courses in a training-room setting, and in situations where reliance on an internet connection is not practical (such as mobile eLearning). Online (web-based) interactive courses and demos are not installed on the user's computer. They run directly from the internet in a web browser, and are executed as part of a web page. The user does not have to download or install anything. They are ideal for screen demos or short courses, and specially suitable for interactive and engaging content appearing automatically with other material displayed on a web site.
